Frame.lab

Convert a PNG to 3D online

Upload your PNG logo and Frame.lab vectorizes and extrudes it into 3D in your own browser. Then you choose material, lighting and animation, and export an image, a video or a 3D model.

How a PNG becomes a 3D object

A PNG is an image made of pixels, and to give it depth the tool needs to know its outline. Frame.lab traces that outline automatically, turns it into vector shapes and extrudes them to give them thickness and a soft bevel. The whole process happens in your browser: your file is not uploaded to any server.

Which PNGs work best

Logos with clear shapes and flat colors work best, on a transparent or single-color background. A high resolution (from around 1000 pixels) and good contrast between the logo and the background help the outline come out clean.

Photographs, complex gradients and busy backgrounds do not convert well because there is no clear outline to extrude. In those cases the editor warns you before processing.

If your logo is a vector, even better

If you have your logo as an SVG, the result is more faithful because nothing has to be traced: the curves are already defined. See how it works in our guide to converting an SVG to 3D.

Step by step

  1. Open the editor and upload your PNG.
  2. Adjust the depth and bevel until the shape looks right.
  3. Choose a material: chrome, gold, colored metallic…
  4. Add an animation if you are going to export video.
  5. Export as PNG, video or 3D model.

Frequently asked questions

Is quality lost when converting the PNG?

The outline is rebuilt from the image, so it depends on its resolution and sharpness. With a large PNG with clean edges the result is very faithful; with a small or blurry one, edges can come out less precise.

Can I convert a PNG with a transparent background?

Yes, and it is ideal: a transparent background lets the logo outline be detected without noise.

Is it free?

Yes, you can use the editor for free. Free-plan exports carry the “Frame.lab” watermark and are for personal use; the Pro plan removes it and allows commercial use.
