Convert a logo to STL for 3D printing
STL is the standard format for 3D printing. With Frame.lab you can turn your logo into a shape with volume and export it as an STL to take to your slicer.
Try it in the editorWhat an STL export contains
An STL stores only the geometry, that is, the shape of the object. It does not include color or material, so the finish will depend on the filament or resin you use when printing.
Things to check before printing
Very thin strokes can come out fragile or may not print well with certain nozzles, so it is worth adjusting the thickness from the Shape panel. A logo made of a single connected shape is easier to print than one with loose pieces, which would end up separated on the bed.
Once exported, check the scale in your slicer (Cura, PrusaSlicer or another), because the final size is yours to decide when you prepare the print.
Common uses
Keychains, desk plaques, small signs, brand ornaments or stamps are frequent ideas. If you need a base or a ring, you will have to add it with your modeling or slicing software.
Step by step
- Upload your logo as an SVG for the cleanest outline.
- Adjust the thickness from the Shape panel.
- Open the Export panel and choose “Export STL”.
- Open the file in your slicer and set the scale.
Frequently asked questions
Does the STL include color?
No. The STL only contains the shape. If you need to keep material or color, the GLB format does carry them.
Is 3D model export free?
3D model export is part of the Pro plan. See the pricing table for the details.
